Starting family traditions has been very high on my list, I love traditions and hope my sidekicks will remember all the fun we had together when they are grown. One of the things I wanted to do was make a Thankful Tree every November. The tree would start out empty and throughout the month we would fill it up with things we are thankful for written on the leaves.
I drew our tree on a white poster board and then had the girls color it, once they were done we cut it out and glued it to another poster board. Probably over kill but I told the girls they didn't have to color in the lines to make it easier, plus all of my eraser marks did not make for a nice background.
I used my Cricut to cut out the words and the leaves, love that little machine, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I love when an idea in my head works out in real life.
We all write (or draw for those who can't write yet) something we are thankful for every night before bed, two days in and already we love it. I am excited to see it at the end of the month overflowing with all of our thankful leaves.
